Due to the success of last year’s Halloween activities, we decided to do something very similar this year. On Friday 29 October we held a free Halloween crafts and pumpkin session at The Hub. Over 200 people attended over the 4 hours the event ran and over 100 pumpkins were carved. Everyone who attended said how good the event was and that it was nice to see people getting together.
Quotes from some of the people who attended:-
As well as the Halloween crafts and pumpkin carving, we ran the best decorated spooky house again too. Over 30 houses entered this competition and on Sunday 31 October, 5 of us went around the village judging all the houses. There were some fantastic houses and judging was so difficult, I was amazed to see just how much effort some people had put in. After some debating, we chose a winner for 1st prize, one for 2nd prize and a joint 3rd prize, as we couldn’t decide! Vouchers of their choice were given to these people.
There was a lovely atmosphere around the village and I really enjoyed being part of it. The community spirit in Thurcroft is a fantastic.
