What is Tenant Scrutiny?
The Tenant Scrutiny panel is a tenant-led panel which investigates Rotherham Council services in order to help identify issues or instances where changes could be made in order to create improvements within the service. Once the panel has finished their investigation, a report will be produced, which will be submitted to Rotherham Council to be considered and implemented. The council will then report back at a later date with their progress. Examples of previous topics scrutinised include Engaging Young tenants in Rotherham and Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour.
Please be aware the Tenant Scrutiny panel is not a meeting to report complaints of council services, these should be reported through the correct channels in the Council.
When does the Tenant Scrutiny panel meet?
The panel meets at Springwell Gardens Community Centre (S65 1NH) on Monday mornings (10.30-12.30) on a monthly basis, usually the second Monday of each month, however dates are sent out to panel members in advance.
Can I get involved and join the Tenant Scrutiny panel?
Yes! If you are wanting to get involved in the tenant scrutiny panel or would like to know more, please contact us on 01709 368515 or info@rotherfed.org. we can send you the documents for the next meeting.
There is no need to have any prior knowledge of meetings or of Council services. You just need a desire to improve Council Services for tenants across Rotherham.
If you would like to get involved outside of attending the meeting, you can put forward your ideas for a future Tenant Scrutiny review here.
