Digital Support

Rotherfed’s Digital Support

Our project aims to help council tenants in Rotherham enjoy the benefits of being online. With the support of our Digital Champion Volunteers, we help both groups and individuals in community-based settings such as libraries and neighbourhood centres.

Unlike formal classes, our sessions are learner-led. This means you tell us what you need help with, and we will support you in those areas. Whether it is creating an email account or uploading a CV to a job application site, we are here to help. All our sessions are informal and friendly, focusing on what interests you or what you need assistance with.

If you want to learn new skills for a hobby, stay in touch with family and friends online, or access online-only deals and government services, we can help. Don’t worry if you don’t have a device; we can still assist you.

Our fantastic Digital Support Champions are key to this service, sharing their time and knowledge with the community. Digital skills are now essential for many aspects of life and work, so we are always looking for more volunteers to support their communities. Our volunteers bring a wide range of skills, from professional training experience to helping family and friends.

To become a Digital Champion Volunteer, you just need to be familiar with using devices, know how to browse the internet, and have a genuine willingness to help. We provide training and support to all our volunteers.
